Posted May 19, 2018 09:38:16 The number of transactions for ecommerce stores in the first half of 2018 was up 11 per a 1.3 per cent year-on-year increase, according to a report released on Thursday by the online shopping company Shopify.

The figure is the best since Shopify began tracking ecommerce transactions in March 2018.

“We’re seeing a significant increase in ecommerce business, especially in the last six months,” said John Hildreth, co-founder and CEO of Shopify, in a press release.

“It’s really cool to see such an enormous increase in sales.

It’s a testament to our team’s dedication and passion to the growth of ecommerce.”

Sales in the United States increased 5 per cent last year, the fastest in four years.

That growth will only accelerate, said Hildebre, who expects it to reach $3.3 billion in 2019.

“The market is evolving and the marketplace is growing exponentially.

We are seeing the impact of that growth,” he said.

He said the company expects to see an even bigger year for eCommerce sales this year.

Shopify launched its ecommerce platform in April 2018 and now has over 250,000 customers.

It recently launched its second-tier app for mobile phones.

The company currently sells online books, CDs and DVDs.
